Adas Yoshuron COVID Policy

Revised May 2023

COVID continues to be present in the community and the Adas Yoshuron COVID Response Team urges everyone to be mindful of protecting themselves and others by avoiding in-person events when experiencing any respiratory symptoms and by wearing a mask if you or a close household member risk complications of severe disease.

Please note that pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic transmission is common, and that even seemingly healthy people can be carriers of COVID and other respiratory pathogens. The COVID team encourages you to speak to your healthcare professional if you have concerns or additional questions about COVID or if you test positive for the virus.

• Masks are optional at all Adas Yoshuron services and events unless a program is specifically designated a “mask-required event.” High-quality masks are available for those who wish to mask at services (N95, KN95, and KF94 masks have been shown to be significantly more effective than cloth masks).

• COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are no longer required for in-person attendance at Adas Yoshuron events. The Adas Yoshuron COVID Response Team continues to recommend receiving all vaccinations for which you are eligible; currently the bivalent booster is most effective at preventing severe disease. People 65 and older or at high risk of complications of COVID-19 are now eligible for an additional bivalent booster.

• To minimize risk to our community, if you test positive for COVID or have a known exposure to COVID, do not attend any in-person events, and follow current CDC safety guidelines for quarantining and masking. If you are experiencing any COVID-related symptoms, please join us online, or in person when you are well and test negative for COVID.

• Adas Yoshuron will continue to offer a mix of indoor, outdoor, and online programming.

• High-efficiency portable air (HEPA) filters are in use in the synagogue building.

Virtual alternatives to in-person services and events will be offered if feasible. We value being together as a community, whether in person or virtually, as we continue to support and care for one another.
