About Our Spiritual Leader

In August 2023, Adas Yoshuron welcomed Lorin Troderman as the fourth rabbi in its century-plus history. The enthusiasm, joy, knowledge, and compassion he brings to the synagogue and beyond elevate and enliven membership in Adas Yoshuron.

His presence has enabled us to expand religious services, increase educational and cultural opportunities for children, teens, and adults, provide pastoral counseling, and have clergy officiate at life cycle events.

Rabbi Lorin completed his first three years of rabbinic training at Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts. Currently a student in the ALEPH Ordination Program, he will be ordained in January 2025.

He graduated from Babson College and holds a graduate degree in education from Australia’s LaTrobe University and an MBA focusing on sustainability from Presidio School of Management.

Adas Yoshuron’s spiritual leader served Temple Beth El of Portland, Maine, as a rabbinic intern and was a Jewish chaplain at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

“Inspired by the living Torah, we strive to deepen our understanding of our traditions and renew them as our own,” says Rabbi Lorin. “With spiritual practice taking place in an attractive building and amid the beautiful midcoast environs, our attention is also on education for all ages. We embrace social action, aware of how we can aid the planet and our neighbors, and are mindful of our connections to the people of Israel. We are a vibrant congregation in a myriad of ways, sharing communal and personal celebrations and supporting each other through the challenges of our lives.”
